Entry to Italy

The results of the entrance test will be displayed on the Politecnico di Milano's website, at the Registrar's office and on official notice boards.

All the admitted students who want to enroll must follow the procedure described on the website www.polimi.it, available soon. Admitted students with a foreign secondary school title must provide the Registrar’s Office the following documents in order to complete the enrollment procedure:

  • final diploma of secondary school title in original (at least 12 years) translated into Italian and duly validated by the Italian Diplomatic Representative (Generally an Embassy or Consulate)
  • Declaration of Value (“Dichiarazione di Valore”) for the diploma issued by the Italian Diplomatic Representative
  • copy of the certificate proving the completion of one or two years of academics studies or a post-secondary title, in case of countries where the educational system lasts only 11 or 10 years
  • a certificate attesting that the University entrance examination in the Country of origin has been passed, if required by law (e.g. Vestibular for Brazil, Selectividad for Spain, Prova de Afericao o Prova Geral de Acesso ao Ensino Superior for Portugal, etc.). From this year, it is necessary for Chinese students to take the GAO KAO examination in order to apply
  • copy of passport or ID card
  • (only for Non-EU citizens) copy of residence permit or residence card.

If the students have been studying for some years in another foreign institution and they would like to have their previous academic career recognized, they can ask for the validation of the examination taken. In this case the students have to produce to the Politecnico di Milano their academic records certifications and the detailed study programs (course description) with the translation and the validation of the Italian Embassy or Consulate.
A commission of the study course they are applying to will evaluate the recognition of the previous academic career of the students.

All documents written in a foreign language must be accompanied by an official translation in Italian; the translation must be obtained by the applicant and must be certified and legalized by the concerned Italian Embassy/Consulate.

We remind the applicants that, if an admitted individual does not supply the Politecnico di Milano with the complete documentation mentioned above by the registration deadline, the candidate will not be able to enroll.
