The town is situated at the confluence of important sea routes and main roads, by the lake and at the foot of the mountains. Research and teaching programmes are related to the territory: programmes in Civil, Environmental and Land Planning Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Building Engineering/Architecture Engineering are given. Specific attention is paid to educational routes for foreign students.
