Politong Project - Double Bachelor Degree Programme (fields of Information Technology Engineering and Mechanical and Production Engineering)

Following a ceremony held in Shanghai on 16th of September 2006, with the participation of the Italian former Prime Minister, Romano Prodi, and the Mayor of Milan, Letizia Moratti, the first Sino-Italian University which will enable both Chinese and Italian students to obtain a degree recognized in both countries, was inaugurated.

The Politecnico di Milano and the Politecnico di Torino, for the Italian part, in collaboration with the Tongji University of Shanghai, for the Chinese part, have instituted joint first level Degree programmes (B.Sc.) in the fields of Information Technology Engineering and Mechanical and Production Engineering .

A group of Italian students interested in the double degree programme will be selected in the academic year 2010-2011, for the fourth time.

What the programme offers

This initiative brings the opportunity to live an experience in China which allows students:

  • To follow a study track established by the Politecnico di Milano, the Politecnico di Torino and the Tongji University
  • To improve students' language skills
  • To live a unique cultural and personal experience

The aim of the programme is:

  • to create, thanks to a mixed staff of Italian and Chinese lecturers as well as a training period both in Italy and China, a class of engineers who will be exposed to the technologies and entrepreneurial cultures of both countries in order to strengthen existing links between them and to respond to the requirements of the Italian economic reality.
  • To create interesting career opportunities for young Italian and Chinese students.
