Sports activities in Como

Students palying volleyball

The sports activities for students are organized by:

CUS Milano (in Italian only)
CUS dei Laghi Varese-Como (President Mr. E. Meschi) (in Italian only)

The activities of CUS are carried out in collaboration with the Sports Committee of the Politecnico di Milano chaired by the Deputy Rector, Prof. Foglio Para and the Deputy for the Como University, Prof. Marco Tagliasacchi.

There are other activities, specific for each seat of the University, for which the Sports Committee allocated additional funds. For Como, these funds are allocated for the organization of the Ski Tournament among the different parts of the University (together with the Polo di Lecco), rowing and, lately, also five-a-side football competitions.

Further initiatives, not covered with the funds of the Committee, can be financed by the Commission for new Academic Initiatives and Expenditure Programmes for Students within the framework of its total budget plan.
Students in Como can also participate to initiatives organized by the Politecnico, by forming teams of adequate level. Sailing was the first sport for which the Politecnico organized a team: some years ago, indeed, different crews from the Politecnico participated to European regattas; this was followed with a team to compete in relay cross-country races and other football and rugby teams.

The Sports Committee and the PUNTO SPORT counter, at the registrar's office are located in via Valleggio, second floor.
