Career Service website
Direct contact with the job market is included in the route of university studies.
The Politecnico di Milano has always based the success of its students on achieving a strong relationship with industry, in order to integrate booklearning with on-the-job learning. This kind of applied teaching is promoted and coordinated by the Career Service, a specific office aimed at bringing the young graduate closer to the business realities.
The Career Service helps students to develop familiarity both with the job market and their own vocations in order to face placement more consciously.
To do this, the Career Service schedules several initiatives to support guidance and placement, as follows:
- Online Job boards: a specific section of the Career Service Website dedicated to job and internship opportunities.
- Companies on Campus: the Career Service gives students and graduates the chance to take part in meetings with company managers to find out how the recruitment process works and what professional profiles they look for (252 events in 2009).
- Appointments at the Career Desk: every week students can meet HR specialists to receive advice on resume writing, job interviews, work contract, businesses and working abroad.
- Online Courses: brief courses on how to write a successful resume, cover letter and face a job interview.
- Your Politecnico CV: students and graduates can post their resume on another specific section of the Career Service website and make it visible to potential employers.
- Career Day: every year in May about 100 companies take part in the job fair reserved for students and graduates of Politecnico di Milano
- International Careers Fair: an event where to meet international employers and find work opportunities abroad.
- General Enquiries: students and graduates can turn to the Career Service desks on campus or online to ask any relevant questions.
