The Master Graduate in Urban Planning and Policy Design is well set up with technical and informational abilities and fundamental disciplinary competences to work in the public administration of different levels, public agencies and private firms in Italy and Europe as well, research centers, policy making, and urban planning. The workshops, apprenticeship and period of study abroad will provide the students a significant advantage in the professional integration after the Master. The Graduate will have the opportunity to deepen their education in II level Masters and Doctoral Studies at the Architecture and Planning Department of the Politecnico of Milan. The professional profile of the Urban Planner was recently (DPR 5.6.2001) defined as freelance (libera-professione). In this way a long standing problem with the professional association was resolved and the Masters in Urban Planning and Policy Design will be admitted to the Architect, Planners, Landscapers, and Conservators Roll in the Section A, open to the all level of profession of planner: analysis, evaluation, feasibility, strategic and urban and regional policies.

Requirements

Attainment of the 120 Credits (ECTS) specified in the didactic regulations. In particular the minimum standard guaranteed by law for the basic educational activities is 48 (Urban Planning and Regional Planning, Engineering and Environmental Sciences, Economy, Politic and Sociology, Environment). For the related or integrative activities the minimum standard guaranteed by law is 12. 12 Credits apprenticeship, and the final exam.
