The individual with a degree in Mechanical and Production Engineering is a technician with a university training, capable of autonomously developing the executive design of both the product and the process, the development of products, the installation and testing of machinery and complex systems, the maintenance and management of production divisions as well as the performance of all procedures related to technical control, inspection and assistance. The graduate will acquire the skills enabling him/her to perform these types of duties mainly within industries active in the mechanical sector but also often in the wider sector of industrial engineering, service companies and public bodies.
Typical opportunities are offered in industries (not necessarily active in the mechanical or manufacturing sectors) in production, the development of new technologies, the running of machinery and plants, the programming and supervision of production activities as well as compliance of transformation and service plants with qualitative and environmental standards.
In addition to technological skills, the Mechanical and Production Engineering graduate will have a cultural background which will enable him/her to take up managerial or technical-business positions (prevalently for manufacturing industries), manage the progress of complex projects as well as having a full command of the cultural tools and methods necessary to work autonomously in any field of engineering.
As specified in the didactic regulations, 180 credits are required to obtain the degree (first level)
