Starting from the academic year 2016/2017, the courses of the 1st and 2nd year of Electrical Engineering Laurea (equivalent to Bachelor of Science) programme will take place at Milano Bovisa Campus. The courses of the 3rd year of the Laurea programme and all the courses of the Laurea Magistrale (equivalent to Master of Science) programme will continue to take place at Milano Leonardo campus.

Mission and goals

The programme aims to form graduates with a comprehensive and solid scientific and technological background in Electrical Engineering. It builds on basic disciplines (covering construction and design of electrical machines, power electronics and electrical drives, electromagnetic compatibility and engineering electromagnetics, digital signal processing applied to measurements and diagnosis techniques) and provides solid skills in the areas of electrical energy and renewable sources, smart grids, electric transportation systems and smart transportation. The programme includes: a broad range track devoted to "Energy and Renewable Sources, Transport, Design and Automation"; a special track devoted to "Smart Grids", organized and run in collaboration with Enel Distribuzione S.p.A.

Career opportunities

The professional opportunities for graduates are in design activities in the areas of production, transmission and distribution of electricity; in industries producing electrical machinery and electronic power systems, industrial automation and robotics industries; companies that design, produce and run electrical transport systems; companies and consortiums that purchase electricity on the electricity stock exchange. In addition, there are opportunities in the self-employment, especially in the fields of safety and certification.
